Honest Word

about

Of the tracks we're still actively playing this was the first that we wrote collectively; as a band, in one room at our rehearsal room way back in 2011. Plenty of other bits and pieces of music have long since been discarded and replaced but Honest Word always seemed to have stuck around and has been relatively unchanged for the majority of that time. It's about as aggressive and probably the only time we go above 120 BPM. We like it slow and tender.

lyrics

I wandered down a corridor full of antiques and unlocked doors of all the things that I once had
Before I thought to take the handle in my hand; no I won't turn this one but I won't turn to run from this

Something that I hadn't mastered yet; suddenly I had a lot to learn
Something that I hadn't mastered yet; I'm holding out for an answer but I've only found an honest word

I wondered how I had come this far I turned the page of an open book to find that all the words had blurred
All I want is to figure out who I am but I hadn't thought about you

about

Thinktank UK

Unabashadly proggy pop music with intricate, fiddly guitars and lots of pedals. We work on the basis that anything plus reverb is great.
